For my second Sesame Street-inspired look, I channeled The Count, the somewhat neurotic vampire of Sesame Street who, as his name implies, is obsessed with counting anything and everything. I was particularly struck by the lavender color of his skin, and I used this as a thread to tie the entire look together.
I've had this cape-blazer in my closet for a couple of seasons now, and it honestly has not gotten the love it deserves. Happy as I was to have an excuse to create an outfit around such a special piece, I was also desperate to keep this look from turning into vampire cosplay. (This is always kind of a worry for me with my pale skin and dark hair.) To dress down the blazer for daytime, I paired it with purple socks, platform Vans, and retro oval sunnies. The confetti clutch was a nod to the colorful lining of The Count's cape.
Taking inspiration from my favorite vampire Pam Swynford De Beaufort of True Blood, I kept the rest of the look sleek and sexy, opting for pleather pants and a slicked-back ponytail. The purple lip courtesy of Fenty Beauty was the perfect finishing touch.
