Just in time for the weekend, here is my look inspired by Zoe, the ballet-obsessed orange muppet and Elmo's best friend. I particularly responded to Zoe's fun-loving spirit and the freedom with which she accessorizes, and I tried to incorporate both of those elements into the finished ensemble.
In the spirit of piling it on, the more the better, I started with these crazy vintage orange pants and added the furry coat for a touch of pink. The shirt is one of my all-time favorite travel souvenirs, picked up at an art gallery in New Orleans. It features portraits of Bowie and Biggie in Aladdin-Sane era face make-up. l felt it fit the zany vibe I was going for. Side note: Has anyone been to the Bowie exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum yet? We are going this weekend, and I am extremely excited!
The Baby Spice-esque pigtails and hair clips were copped straight from Zoe's look -- too good not to -- and this incredible holographic flower choker from Marina Fini is without a doubt the most fun piece of jewelry I own. So, I threw that on, too, along with these vintage Italian sunnies I picked up from Housing Works' Best of Spring sale. Et voilà!
